How to Play: Your Workshop
So you're interested in Muelsfell and have started up a new magus character. The first thing to do is to become familiar with your Workshop, which is the place you'll be making golems as well as items like armour to install on your golems. Since the golems are tied to your workshop, upgrading your workshop is important to creating your golems. Throughout this 'How-To' section, you may click the arrows to navigate through the How To Play pages.

Your Workshop Buildings
Several structures are located inside or near your workshop. Each of these has a function, such as providing you with more resources or granting you access to higher level golems. Whatever their purpose, it's important that you decide what you want to accomplish and upgrade your workshop structures accordingly.
Building | Minimum Level | Maximum Level | Description of Building
Workshop | 1 | 20 | This represents your entire Workshop. Increasing your Workshop's level decreases the amount of time other structures take to upgrade. In addition, some structures such as the Library have a minimum Workshop level requirement before they can be built.
Practice Dummy | 1 | Can not be improved | The Practice Dummy is used to test your new golems without risk of damaging them or antagonizing your neighbors.
Artificer Lab | 1 | 10 | One of the most important areas of your workshop, the Artificer Lab is where you would create items for your golems such as armour, eyes, and power sources. The higher level this structure is, the less time it takes to complete your projects.
Library | 1 | 15 | Though the requirements are very high, the Library is necessary to research new artificer projects as well as different types of golems.
Animal Pen | Not initially built | 20 | The structure that produces flesh. It is comparable to a rabbit hutch.
Lone Grave | Not initially built | 20 | The structure that produces bone. Well intended mages should consider this an animal grave rather than a human one.
Black Locust Tree | Not initially built | 20 | The structure that produces wood. This may be a single tree you break branches from, or a small grove.
Clay Stream | Not initially built | 20 | The structure that produces clay. Clay is pulled from the banks.
Rock Quarry | Not initially built | 20 | The structure that produces stone. Think of this as a mini-quarry.
Foundry | Not initially built | 20 | The structure that produces iron. This is comparable to a medieval furnace.
Basement | 1 | 10 | The Basement stores your golems. A higher level Basement has much more room for golems, and since it is always wise to have extra golems in case your guard is destroyed, the Basement is a very important structure to keep upgrading.
Storage Bin | 1 | 20 | A structure that determines how many resources you can store. Any resources that are produced, found, or traded beyond the size of the storage bin are wasted and lost so it is important to ensure your storage bin has plenty of room. Money is not limited by the size of the bin.
Hidden Room | 1 | 10 | A structure that hides a certain amount of your resources from marauding golems. The higher the level, the more resources will be protected.
Barricade | Not initially built | 15 | The Wall or Barricade provides a defensive bonus to the golem that guards your workshop. In addition, it also very slightly helps reduce the amount of resources that can be stolen.
Upgrading Buildings | ||
Each building requires a certain amount of the basic six resources and money to construct or upgrade. If you do not have enough of a certain type of resource, this number will appear in red. If you have enough, click Upgrade...
...and the building will now appear in the construction queue. After the noted amount of time passes, the building will begin functioning at its new level. While the building is being constructed, you'll have the option of canceling the project, which will return the resources that you used back to your Storage Bin.
